Belfast, 23rd November 2018 – AMI, the most secure IT disposal company on the island of Ireland, today announces that it has been named the Medium/Mid-Sized Business of the Year 2018 at the annual Business Eye First Trust Bank Business Awards (BEFTAs).
The awards, which took place at the Belfast Waterfront on Thursday, 22nd November, recognise companies and individuals from across Northern Ireland who have displayed exceptional results, performance and leadership over the past 12 months.
AMI saw off stiff competition from other Northern Irish companies with 50-250 employees. The experienced judging panel awarded Medium/Mid-Sized Business of the Year to AMI in recognition of the company’s outstanding business growth, contributions to the community and excellence in client service delivery.
AMI has undergone strong growth recently, in terms of both revenues and client and staff growth. Fuelling the demand for AMI’s secure IT disposal services is the requirement of organisations to show compliance with GDPR, which came into effect in May of this year. To continue to provide clients with the lowest risk disposal services, AMI also significantly invested in security, staff training and accreditation.
Philip McMichael, managing director, AMI, said:
“This is a massive accomplishment for AMI and the fantastic work done by every member of our team. This has been a terrific year for us in terms of growth which was achieved by providing the very best and most secure level of IT disposal service to our customers. While this award recognises AMI’s exceptional performance across the board, it’s also important to us that we achieved this in a responsible way. In 2017, we fulfilled our zero-landfill target, meaning 100% of disposals were handled in an environmentally responsible way.We were also delighted to announce our sponsorship of Young Social Innovators (YSI) earlier this year, making an initial donation of IT equipment worth in excess of £26,500 to the social innovation programme for teenagers. We look forward to setting and achieving more ambitious targets, to future partnerships in our communities, and to continuing to provide the most secure IT disposal service available to businesses throughout the island of Ireland.”
AMI is the most secure IT disposal company in Ireland and manage the secure disposal of end-of-life IT, mobile and electrical equipment. Established in 2001, it has grown to be a world leader in securely managing IT disposal as evidenced by its ranking among the top four ADISA audited companies, and only one in Ireland. It leads based on its ability to minimise the risk of harmful data leaks from retired equipment; its exceptional customer service; and its ability to generate new revenue streams for customers from the refurbishment and resale of data sanitised devices. Its security conscious public and private sector customers include central and local government agencies, as well as 25% of Ireland’s top 200 ICT user companies. www.https://vyta.com.ie
