Originally published when Vyta was operating as AMI, this update documented the company successfully passing an unannounced ADISA audit in 2016 and retaining its Distinction with Honours certification at the time.
On 20 June 2016, AMI, now Vyta, underwent an unannounced spot-check against the ADISA standard. The company successfully passed the audit, providing further independent assurance of its security and compliance processes.
Philip McMichael, then Managing Director of AMI, said: “We’re pleased to report that once again we have passed the unannounced audit ‘with flying colours’. Passing the surprise ADISA audit provides peace of mind and reassurance to our customers that their redundant IT assets are in safe hands and emphasises the commitment AMI has to retaining the highest level of security and compliance throughout our business processes.”
The spot-check assessed whether certified IT asset disposition providers were continuing to meet the ADISA standard. This included reviewing collection documentation and carrying out forensic testing on media such as hard drives to verify that data had been securely erased.
Philip continued: “We’ve worked hard to ensure that we maintain first-class standards, reinforcing to our clients that the security of their data is our top priority.”
At the time, AMI was the only IT asset disposal company in Ireland certified to the Distinction with Honours level and one of only a small number of ADISA members globally to hold that status.
That commitment continues today. Vyta remains the only IT asset disposition provider in Ireland certified to ADISA 8.0 or ADISA Essentials, with current ADISA certifications covering all four Vyta facilities.
