The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic Operations team helping to take the business forward and promote organic growth, furthering their career along the way. They would be expected to communicate with a broad and diverse group of stakeholders essential to the smooth running of the business. A hands-on approach is a must to work alongside our collection crew; therefore, experience in a similar field is necessary for this role.
Our ideal candidate must be of solid character and be able to work independently, attention to detail, strong planning and organisational skills are a must, and excellent time and work management.
As Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing transport co-ordination, freight costings and compliance aspects of the logistics department. You will manage the Collection Crew team based at our Mallusk and Dublin sites directly, ensuring appropriate driving cover is always in place.
Core Responsibilities:
- Schedule collections of equipment from customers sites across Ireland and further afield
- Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of vehicles.
- Developing integrated and phased logistics plans, including but not limited to people movement, asset movement and waste movement to meet agreed scheduling.
- Manage Mallusk and Dublin based Collection Crew and vehicles
- Manage the administration responsibility of the logistics department, ensuring systems are maintained and updated.
- Completion of necessary paperwork, providing accurate documentation in accordance with relevant legislation, customer, and carrier requirements – import/export/waste
- Ensuring that processes are in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Schedule transport within strict legal criteria in order to ensure that customer deliveries are managed in accordance with customer SLA’s.
- Lead & manage staff to deliver on Core KPIs of quality, safety and customer specifications.
- Ensuring all resources are allocated and used efficiently and correctly.
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all logistical coordination for the business.
- Work with the Transport Manager to ensure repairs and routine maintenance of vehicles is carried out as required
- Build and maintain good rapport and excellent relations with key contacts and customers.
- Work with the People Department on development, training, and issue resolution.
- Work with QESS Manager in ensuring audits both internally and externally and ensure department meets all compliancy rules & regulations.

Essential Criteria
- At least five years’ experience in logistics or similar.
- At least two years of people management.
- Advanced level of administrative skills, particularly experience with Microsoft office suite – Excel and SharePoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of the Operations team.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills to coordinate large volumes of collections.
- The ability to work effectively under limited supervision.
- In possession of a valid UK driving licence
- Good geographical knowledge of UK & Ireland
- Knowledge of drivers’ hours and WTD regulations
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience in dealing with customs paperwork
- International Transport Manager CPC
- Previous experience with waste transportation regulations
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
