Vyta helped Servecentric, a Dublin-based cloud, data centre and connectivity services provider, avoid 13 tonnes of CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent) and recover €77,000 in value from retired IT equipment through secure IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), refurbishment and reuse.
Vyta collected and processed 2,222 devices for Servecentric over a 12-month period, including servers, network equipment and other retired IT assets. Equipment suitable for reuse was securely processed, refurbished and resold, helping extend its useful life while generating a financial return.
In total, 205 items were refurbished and resold through Vyta’s sales network, returning €77,000 to Servecentric. The reuse of this equipment also avoided 13 tonnes of CO₂e, equivalent at the time to the annual carbon dioxide absorption of 619 mature trees.
Assets that could not be reused were responsibly recycled, while data-bearing equipment was securely erased or destroyed as required. Each asset was tracked throughout the process, giving Servecentric a clear record of how its retired equipment was handled.
The partnership reflects the growing importance of managing IT equipment with both data security and sustainability in mind, particularly for organisations operating complex technology estates and data centre environments.
