Over the course of the last year, the Vyta community of staff, friends, family as well our clients, suppliers and stakeholders have all came together to raise an amazing £6,660 for Samaritans, through a number of different fundraisers that were run by our Charity Committee.
March Miles
The ‘March Miles’ challenge aimed to have Vyta staff walk enough steps to complete 3 laps of our sites – from Mallusk to Titanic Quarter, Dublin, Chelmsford, Frankfurt and back, totalling over 5,768 miles.
Together our team completed 15,228,000 steps.
Richard Brinkley, Chelmsford was the winner with an incredible total of 866,369 steps throughout March! He even recorded the highest single-day total with 51,356 steps!
Competition was fierce across all locations, with our Titanic Quarter site achieving the highest daily average of 13,085 steps per participant, followed by Chelmsford with 12,388 steps and Mallusk with 10,158 steps.
Charity Bake Sale
The charity bake sale raised £340 for Samaritans.
Our teams demonstrated their exceptional baking prowess, offering everything from cupcakes to homemade cinnamon rolls.
The event celebrated the creativity and dedication of our team, with special commendations awarded to star bakers Fiona Brenchley, Chris Walker, and Leah Heslip, whose outstanding culinary skills played a key role in energising community participation and boosting our fundraising efforts.
Sponsored Hike
Demonstrating remarkable endurance and team spirit, Vyta teams also embarked on challenging hikes across their respective locations.
The NI team tackled Slieve Donard, the highest mountain in Northern Ireland.
At the same time, our GB team completed a 12-mile hike from Chelmer Village to Heybridge Basin in the sweltering heat.
These efforts collectively raised £3,080 for Samaritans.
With the conclusion of this fundraiser, we would like to thank everyone who supported any of these events. A new charity committee of volunteers has been selected and we look forward to sharing their chosen charity and exciting fundraising activities soon.
