Vyta targets additional £1.3M in revenues with top security accreditation

Vyta announces that it has been awarded the highest data security rating from ADISA. The accreditation reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the circular economy while giving businesses the peace of mind that they are adhering to the most stringent data security standards. It will enable Vyta to target an additional £1.3M in revenues by year-end 2023. In the last financial year ending May 2022, Vyta’s revenues reached £16M.

ADISA is the world’s leading certification body for IT asset disposal companies and data sanitisation services, giving assurance to businesses that they are adhering to the highest data security standards. ADISA Standard 8.0 is approved by the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) and the only ITAD certification that is law in the UK – while an EU version has been submitted to the Irish Data Commission for evaluation as an EU GDPR Certification Scheme.

The certification covers all of Vyta’s sites in Dublin, Belfast and Essex, where it sustainably and securely processes and refurbishes retired IT equipment. All sites are now certified to DIAL 3 with a distinction – the highest level of certification attainable – meaning Vyta can perform ADISA-approved collections and services for clients with extremely high security requirements and critically sensitive data. This will enable Vyta to expand its customer base in highly lucrative industries including data centres, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, consultancy, and government including defence and healthcare.

The certification comes on the back of a near-£1M investment from the company in its facilities’ physical infrastructure, systems and operational procedures over the last two years. This has enabled Vyta to ensure that it is adhering to the most exacting standards regarding data security and destruction.

Under GDPR regulations, organisations are obligated to ensure secure disposal of their data and IT equipment. ADISA members are subjected to a scheduled comprehensive audit every three years, as well as impromptu spot-check inspections at least once a year. Members must meet all 112 essential criteria, before being awarded ADISA Standard 8.0. Vyta is the only ADISA member certified in both the UK and Ireland, as well as the only Irish company certified, and is among the top four of 42 companies evaluated globally.

Giles Ward, COO, Vyta, said: “This certification underlines our vigilance in data security and destruction and is a testament to the commitment and high standards of the entire team at Vyta. We place the utmost importance on safeguarding our clients’ data, so receiving this award and knowing that our security standards are among the highest in the world gives us a great deal of satisfaction.

Discussing Vyta's Revenue increase, Chief Operations Officer Giles Ward

“In today’s data economy, companies are more conscious than ever of their need to protect client data. By investing in the continual improvement of our processes across all of our sites, we have established ourselves as the highest certified company in the industry.

“Achieving a DIAL 3 with distinction gives us a clear competitive advantage, enabling us to work with organisations who handle highly classified data and helping them to contribute to the circular economy.”
