In 2020, Vyta achieved ADISA v7.0 Distinction with Honours certification for both its Belfast and Dublin processing facilities, the highest level available under the standard at the time. Vyta’s onsite hard drive and media shredding operation was also certified.
ADISA Distinction with Honours
The achievement recognised Vyta’s security, data sanitisation and IT asset disposition processes following independent assessment by ADISA.

Independent assurance for IT asset disposition
ADISA was established to provide independent assurance around data security and IT asset disposition. Certification assesses the controls and processes used to collect, handle, sanitise and dispose of data-bearing IT equipment.
The audit process
ADISA certification involves detailed audits and unannounced spot checks to confirm that certified providers continue to operate in line with the standard. Data-bearing assets can also be selected at random and forensically tested to verify that data has been securely removed.
Under the ADISA v7.0 standard used at the time, organisations were assessed against more than 120 essential criteria alongside additional highly desirable requirements. Vyta scored more than 96% for both its Belfast and Dublin facilities and had been audited 18 times since joining ADISA.

Vyta’s ADISA certification today
Today, Vyta holds ADISA Standard 8.0 certification to Distinction level across all four facilities in Belfast, Dublin, Chelmsford and Frankfurt, with DIAL 3 certification for handling the most sensitive data.
Vyta holds both the UK GDPR and EU-law versions of the standard and is the only ITAD provider certified across four sites to DIAL 3.
