AMI inaugural Breakfast Briefing was held on the 9th October at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin.
The briefing focused on the challenges surrounding adhering to Data Protection legislation and the ultimate Data Destruction for end-of-life assets. To achieve this we lined up a three industry experts to provide a range of perspectives on this evolving area.
- Hugh Jones is the Director of Longstone Management Ltd. and works as a Professional Services consultant and trainer with the Irish Computer Society. Hugh presented on the ‘Value at Risk’ –looking at the practical criteria for deciding to keep or wipe, within the context of the Irish Data Protection legislation”.
- Steve Mellings from ADISA – with over 15 years’ experience in asset retirement working with global manufacturers steve delivered a excellent presentation; “Creating a standard – how ADISA is helping Data Controllers to manage their end-of-life IT Assets now and into the future”.
- Steve Inglesis from BLANCCO – has worked within the IT Industry for over 15 years, with a wide range of business experience initiating and managing successful business alliances. Steve expressed his knowledge of understanding the risk of smart devices in the workplace.
