ITAD Summit 24 – insights and reflections from Miami

There aren’t too many more attractive settings in which to do business than Miami Beach – and that is where many of the key players from the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) industry gathered recently for a major conference..

Bringing together a record-breaking 1,600 industry leaders and showcasing over 100 exhibitors across two action-packed days, the 2024 ITAD Summit was a landmark event.

Vyta was privileged to take part in this significant annual gathering, not only through sponsorship and exhibiting, but also by playing a significant role in key discussions surrounding the future of ITAD.

It was wonderful to welcome over 1,000 visitors to the Vyta exhibit stand and to meet with over 50 customers and partners, proving how valuable industry events are in fostering, strengthening and developing relationships and paving the way for future partnerships.

Our Strategic Relationship Director, Sue Bywater-Read, was a prominent figure at the summit, taking part in an inspirational keynote panel session entitled ‘Tech Trailblazers: Women Pioneering Change in ITAD’.

Sue shared her journey from part-time receptionist and single mum to industry leader, emphasising the importance of mentorship, collaboration, and diversity while highlighting the crucial role of women in driving innovation and leadership within the ITAD sector.

An interactive ‘fishbowl’ session provided an additional opportunity for experts, including Sue, to collaborate and brainstorm next steps for the industry. This engaging session gave attendees insight into perspectives focused on how ITAD can evolve to meet emerging challenges and maximise opportunities.

These sessions provided important insights and takeaways for our sector, which will prove essential as we look to the future. These include:

The Power of Diversity: The summit reinforced the increasingly important role of women and diverse perspectives in ITAD. The presence of trailblazing women in leadership roles is vital for inspiring future generations and fostering innovation. Embracing diversity within ITAD not only enriches the industry, but also opens doors to new ideas and approaches.

The Importance of Collaboration: A major theme was the necessity for collaboration within the ITAD community. As the industry evolves, it is clear that working together will be key to achieving greater compliance, security, and sustainability. Collaborative efforts will better position ITAD organisations to serve their customers effectively and meet the demands of a rapidly changing market.

The Future of Globalisation: With the increasing globalisation of the ITAD industry, the need for enhanced cooperation between ITAD businesses and their partners has never been more pressing. Globalisation brings with it new challenges and opportunities, making it crucial for industry players to work together to navigate complexities and drive progress.

We’re already looking forward to ITAD Summit 2025!
