The Vyta team was back in Las Vegas for ITAD Summit 2026, held at the Bellagio on 4th and 5th August.
This year was an especially significant one for us. As we are celebrating 25 years in the industry, the Summit gave us the opportunity to bring six members of our team together, contribute to some important industry conversations and celebrate the milestone with many of the customers and partners who have been part of our journey.
Vyta on stage
Three members of the Vyta team took to the stage, sharing perspectives on some of the opportunities and challenges shaping ITAD today.
On Tuesday, our Head of Marketing, Rachael Weir, joined the panel ITAD’s Identity Crisis: Who We Are, Why It Matters, and Why No One Knows It. Alongside representatives from the Global ITAD Alliance, GreenTek Solutions and Techbros Electronic Recycle, the discussion explored how the ITAD industry defines itself, how well the wider market understands what we do and why communicating the value of ITAD continues to matter as the industry evolves.
On Wednesday morning, Marketing Executive Alexandra McKinlay joined The Goal of Attraction: Making ITAD the Dream Job of the Next-Gen Workforce. The session looked at how the industry can better attract and engage the next generation of talent. Alex was able to bring the perspective of someone relatively new to the industry and share what can make ITAD an exciting career choice for those entering the workforce.
The session was made even more memorable as it doubled as both a panel discussion and a live recording of John Shegerian’s Impact Podcast, giving Alex the opportunity to be part of the podcast’s first-ever live recording. It was fantastic to take the conversation around attracting the next generation of ITAD talent beyond the Summit stage and to a wider audience.
Later that afternoon, COO Giles Ward discussed Beyond the Factory Reset: Solving the Network Equipment Challenge in Global ITAD. The conversation focused on the challenges surrounding network equipment within global ITAD programmes and the need to look beyond factory resets when it comes to secure, compliant and effective asset disposition.
Having three members of the team contributing across marketing, talent and operations reflected the breadth of conversations taking place across the industry and the experience we have built across Vyta.
Cheers to 25 years
The Summit also gave us the perfect opportunity to mark an important milestone.
We hosted a special happy hour during the show, bringing together some of our key customers, partners and friends from across the industry to raise a glass and say cheers to 25 years.
Since 2001, Vyta has grown significantly, but the relationships we have built along the way remain a hugely important part of our story. Being able to celebrate in Las Vegas with people we work alongside every day made the occasion particularly special.
Ending on a high
We wrapped up the Summit at the annual ITAD Industry Awards, celebrating the individuals making a positive contribution across the sector and organisations that have gone above and beyond to strengthen the ITAD industry.
It was another proud moment for Vyta, with Rachael taking to the stage once again, this time as joint MC for the evening alongside Darrell Fleming-Kendall, Executive Director of the Global ITAD Alliance.
It was also a big night for the whole Vyta team as we were recognised as a finalist for ITAD of the Year. From where we started, to the global IT lifecycle partner that we are today, our growth has always been driven by our people, our customers and our partners.
Looking ahead
ITAD Summit is always an amazing event to connect with the industry, share ideas and hear different perspectives on where the sector is heading.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Vyta stand, joined our team at one of the panel discussions, came along to celebrate our 25th anniversary or simply took the time to catch up with us during the week.
