Teams across our locations came together for a three day Spin-a-Thon in support of Cancer Research UK, collectively cycling more than 1,000 miles and surpassing our target.
The challenge brought colleagues together from across Vyta, with teams contributing miles towards a virtual journey connecting our locations in Belfast, Dublin, Chelmsford and Frankfurt.
A strong start on Day One
The challenge got off to a fantastic start, with colleagues across the business taking turns on the bikes and clocking up an impressive 277.4 miles.
The momentum continued into the second day, with teams keeping the pedals turning and pushing the total even further. By the end of Day Two, we had collectively completed 725 miles, putting our 1,000-mile target firmly within reach.
Smashing the 1,000-mile target
Heading into the final day, there were just 275 miles left to reach our goal.
Another huge effort from the teams across Vyta saw the miles quickly add up, and we not only reached our 1,000-mile target but powered straight past it.
By the end of the three-day challenge, we had cycled an incredible 1,255 miles!
Supporting Cancer Research UK
The Spin-a-Thon was about much more than the miles. The challenge was organised in support of Cancer Research UK, which funds research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Through the Spin-a-Thon, £1,050 was raised for Cancer Research UK, meaning we surpassed both our fundraising and cycling targets.
A team effort across Vyta
With teams across Northern Ireland, Ireland, England and Germany contributing to the challenge, the Spin-a-Thon brought teams together across Vyta’s European locations for an important cause.
Thank you to everyone who jumped on a bike, clocked up the miles, supported their colleagues and donated throughout the challenge.
