ITAD and the circular economy
A well-designed ITAD programme should combine secure data handling with reuse, value recovery and responsible recycling. Where equipment can be reused, Vyta refurbishes and prepares it for resale or redeployment. Assets that cannot be reused are processed through responsible recycling routes.

Responsible recycling
Equipment selected for recycling is segregated into appropriate material and component streams for further processing. Metals, plastics and other recoverable materials are separated, while specialist downstream partners are used where required.
Vyta operates a zero-landfill policy. Where reuse is not possible, equipment is dismantled for material recovery or processed through approved recovery routes.
Reducing carbon impact through reuse
Extending the life of IT equipment can avoid much of the environmental impact associated with manufacturing replacement devices. Vyta focuses on reuse wherever possible, with approximately 68% of assets collected from clients currently reused rather than recycled.
Vyta also provides customers with Carbon Avoidance Reports, helping organisations understand and report the environmental benefits generated through the reuse of their IT equipment.

Vyta is certified carbon neutral under ISO 14068-1, supporting our wider commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our own operations as well as those of our clients.
