Last week Vyta’s Strategic Relationship Director, Sue Bywater-Read, spoke on a panel at this years ADISA conference and shares her insight from the event:
Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking on a panel focused on the future of secure and sustainable IT asset disposal at the incredibly insightful ADISA conference in London. The event brought together industry leaders, ITAD professionals, and key stakeholders from across the tech landscape.
I have been working in the ITAD industry for over 24 years, and it’s safe to say that I’ve seen a lot of change since then!
Over the last two decades, the ITAD sector has undergone a remarkable transformation. Once an independent practice, often relying on outdated methods that didn’t always prioritise security or sustainability, we have seen a significant shift towards a more collaborative approach.
From technological advancements to evolving client expectations, the ITAD landscape has changed drastically
It is clear that the industry has had to learn to understand its target audience better. For instance, modern clients are much more aware of the need for secure, sustainable, and ethical ITAD practices.
Unlike when I first started my career, clients now demand solutions that not only meet compliance standards but also align with their own corporate values. It is this dual focus that drives Vyta to continually adapt and refine our service offering.
As data storage and processing technologies continue to evolve, it’s essential that our approach to managing and disposing of IT assets does too. I have no doubt that the future will place even greater emphasis on data security, as threats become more sophisticated.
The ADISA conference provided the perfect opportunity to highlight the crucial role modern ITAD providers play in educating clients about compliance and data security. Unlike traditional providers that may offer questionable ‘free services’, Vyta is dedicated to empowering our clients. We help them navigate the complexities of data compliance, guiding them through regulations and best practices that keep their information safe.
At Vyta, our goal is to foster a more secure, sustainable, and ethical delivery of services. It’s not just about ticking compliance boxes, it’s about elevating the standards of our industry as a whole.
One of the key takeways from the ADISA conference was the importance of collaboration within the ITAD community – whether direct clients, service providers and other ITAD providers. When we all collaborate effectively, it not only strengthens individual service offerings but also elevates industry standards as a whole.
ADISA is at the forefront of standardising practices across our industry. Awareness of the importance of collaboration is what makes events like this such a success. This conference is a fantastic platform for businesses in the ITAD sector to gather, share insights, and discuss the latest industry developments. By continuing these important conversations, we can drive positive change, raise our standards, and pave the way for a secure and sustainable future in IT asset disposition.
