IT Asset Disposal: ADISA Certification for Vyta 2023

Vyta's certificates to ADISA Standard 8.0 showing DIAL 3 ratings for ITAD services in the UK and Ireland

Secure IT Asset Disposal: Vyta’s 2023 ADISA Certification

We are delighted to announce that Vyta has been awarded the new ADISA ICT Asset Recovery Standard 8.0 and has been certified to distinction across all three sites in Great Britain, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. This makes us the only ADISA member certified in both the UK and Ireland.

ADISA is the world’s leading certification body for IT asset disposal companies and data sanitisation services, giving assurance to businesses that they are adhering to the highest data security standards. ADISA Standard 8.0 is approved by the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) and the only ITAD certification that is law in the UK – while an EU version has been submitted to the Irish Data Commission for evaluation as an EU GDPR Certification Scheme.

Find Out More About ADISA Certification & What It Means for Vyta

Under GDPR regulations, organisations are obligated to ensure secure disposal of their data and IT equipment. ADISA members are subjected to a scheduled comprehensive audit every three years, as well as impromptu spot-check inspections at least once a year. Members must meet all 112 essential criteria, before being awarded ADISA Standard 8.0.

The Data Impact Assurance Level (DIAL) is a metric introduced in Standard 8.0 to allow businesses to answer specific questions about the data they hold. The DIAL rating – 1, 2, or 3 – is assigned based on the threat, risk, category and volume of data that is processed by the company, and the impact it would have if there was a breach. The higher the DIAL rating, the higher the perceived risk. Businesses who have DIAL 3 ratings include data centres; pharmaceuticals and life sciences companies; consultancy firms; and Government departments including defence and healthcare. All Vyta sites are now certified to DIAL 3 with a distinction – the highest level of certification attainable – meaning we can perform ADISA-approved collections and services for clients with extremely high security requirements and critically sensitive data. We are the first and only multi-site organisation certified to DIAL 3 in Europe.

The certification comes on the back of continued investment from Vyta in our facilities’ physical infrastructure, systems and operational procedures. This has enabled us to ensure that we are adhering to the most exacting standards regarding data security and destruction.

Philip McMichael, CEO, Vyta, said: “We are committed to providing the highest level of service and security to our customers. This latest certification across all of our sites puts us at the top of the highest-certified companies in our industry and reflects the rigorous data security and compliance standards that we hold ourselves to. I am immensely proud of our team for this outstanding achievement, which positions Vyta as the best, most secure ITAD in the industry.”
