Vyta has been been shortlisted for ‘Best Company to Work For’ and ‘Excellence in Sustainability’, recognising two areas that have been central to Vyta as we mark 25 years in business.
Faye Thomas, Chief Commercial Officer, and Eamon McCrory, Senior Business Development Manager, recently met with the judging panel to share more about our people, our approach to sustainability and how we continue to develop.
Best Company to Work For
Our people have always been a big part of what sets Vyta apart.
We are known for the level of service we provide and the relationships we build with our customers. That white glove approach comes from the people behind Vyta, across every department, who take ownership, work together and genuinely care about providing the best possible service.
As we have grown, we have wanted to make sure the experience we provide to our customers is reflected in the experience of our own team too. That means creating a workplace where people feel supported, involved and able to develop.
Our submission highlighted our mostly four day working week, learning and development opportunities, LEAP Leadership Training, Mental Health First Aiders, Health Shield and employee recognition. It also looked at how we listen to feedback and continue to improve the employee experience.
Our latest Employee Survey found that 91% of employees feel supported by their manager, 85% would recommend Vyta as a place to work and 72% reported high job satisfaction.
With teams working across different locations and areas of the business, from operations to the office, we are continuing to strengthen our One Vyta culture, bringing our people together and making sure everyone understands the part they play in the service our customers receive.
Ultimately, our reputation for customer service comes back to our people. By investing in them, listening to them and giving them opportunities to develop, we can continue providing the personal service and attention to detail that our customers know Vyta for.
Excellence in Sustainability
Sustainability has been part of Vyta’s approach since the business was established in 2001 and is built into the services we provide today.
As a complete IT lifecycle partner, we take a reuse first approach, helping organisations extend the useful life of their technology through secure processing, refurbishment, reuse and resale. Recycling is used when equipment or components can no longer be responsibly reused.
For our customers, this means making more sustainable choices with their technology while also maximising the value of their assets. Our carbon reporting gives customers clear data on the emissions avoided through reuse, helping them understand and report on the impact of their IT lifecycle decisions.
We have also continued to reduce the environmental impact of our own operations. All Vyta facilities use renewable energy, 40% of our vehicle fleet has been replaced with electric vehicles and we achieved carbon neutrality across all sites in 2025.
Our approach has also been recognised externally, including an EcoVadis Gold rating, placing Vyta within the top 5% of organisations assessed, and the King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development in 2024.
Our approach to sustainability also looks at the wider value technology can create for communities.
Through our CSR Donation Programme, organisations can choose to donate some or all of the rebate value generated from their retired IT equipment. Through our partnership with Camara Education, this can help fund digital education, technology access, teacher training and AI powered learning initiatives across Africa.
Customers can also use the same model to support their own charity partners or causes, allowing the value recovered from retired technology to contribute to their wider CSR and ESG goals.
Alongside this, during 2025 more than 500 devices were donated to charities and community organisations, extending the value of technology beyond its first user.
For us, sustainability is not separate from the service we provide. It is about helping our customers get more from their technology, keep assets in use for longer and have clear evidence of the environmental and social impact they are creating.
25 Years of Vyta
Being shortlisted in both categories comes as Vyta marks 25 years in business.
Over that time, we have grown from our beginnings in Northern Ireland into an international IT lifecycle partner, but our people and our approach to responsible technology management remain central to what we do.
We look forward to joining the other finalists at the Belfast Chamber Business Awards in October.
